Brainstorm magazine is proud to continue providing South Africa's talented young creatives with a platform to shine.

Brainstorm's mission is to encourage local artists by giving them a chance to compete in our annual calendar competition. This project challenges these artists to take a brief from a top-end ICT organisation and turn it into something exciting, interesting and mind-blowingly original.

For the 2015 Brainstorm calendar, a shortlist of artists has been identified and clients are encouraged to peruse the artists' work and commission art from them. With mediums ranging from sculpture to beadwork, fashion design to oil on canvas, there are plenty of options to satisfy all tastes.

Once a sponsorship has been taken, the client/company gets to brief their chosen artist to create the original artwork thereby interpreting the sponsor company's vision, business focus or ethos in an innovative and hugely creative way.

Whatever the topic, be it virtualisation, mobility, or even a corporate social initiative, the artists are tasked with producing an artwork to represent that concept.

Not only do sponsors acquire a unique and original artwork symbolising a key component of their company's mission or ethos, they also have the benefit of having the artwork and some key data displayed on thousands of corporate desks all year round in the form of a calendar.

South Africa is bursting with artistic talent and through the calendar project; Brainstorm and its generous corporate sponsors are helping the next generation of artists to acquire a platform on which to shine through the entire year of 2015.
