Does Covid-19 spell doom for African co-working?

Covid-19 and its associated economic ramifications have had a serious impact on African startups and SMEs. But organisations supporting those companies, like coworking spaces and incubators, are also feeling the pinch.

Britta Dahms is marketing manager at South African co-working brand Workshop17, which has spaces across Cape Town, including one at the V&A Waterfront, in Paarl and Johannesburg. She says the impact of Covid-19 has been seismic in an industry that’s not exactly based around ‘social distancing’.
