Juniper Networks ready for growth

Juniper Networks is winning plaudits for its focus, vision and its product portfolio is set to capitalise on many key emerging technology trends.

02 November 2020

Founded in 1996, US-based Juniper Networks originally focused on core routers used by ISPs and significantly challenged Cisco’s dominance in the networking space. It’s still seen as one of Cisco’s biggest competitors and has significantly eaten into its market share. Last financial year’s results show an annual revenue of $4.4 billion and a market cap of $7.5 billion. It has a healthy relationship between its bottom line and total revenue, about 10%.

Routers account for 50% of revenues, switches are 13%, IT security is 12% and services are 25%. Half of its revenue comes from the US, 30% from EMEA, with Asia Pacific accounting for the remaining 20%. The market seems pleased with its performance as its share price over the past 12 months has been in the upper quartile.
