Although MTN’s two largest shareholders – the M1 group and the Public Investment Corporation – have indicated they are in favour of the proposed deal with Bharti, there are still many unanswered questions around the deal, including ownership.

The potential tie-up has raised questions in the marketplace, with commentators wondering what the new entity will look like, and whether MTN will remain an autonomous entity.
