As a country with a First World business infrastructure situated at the tip of an underdeveloped continent, South Africa offers a unique operating environment. ICT makes companies tick and drives them forward, so Brainstorm chatted to three IT heads to find out how they grapple with the specifics of keeping IT going in South Africa’s somewhat unusual environment.
“From a compliance perspective, our laws and regulations are different, but the end result is the same,” says Rakesh Beekum, CIO at the South African Institute of Chartered Accountants. “It’s just the same things in a different place.”
