The role of the 'new' CIO dissected
10 May 2018

The bi-annual Public Sector ICT Forum on a stunning autumn morning, overlooking a breath-taking Johannesburg vista, at the infamous Flames Restaurant, at The Four Seasons Hotel in Westcliff. Attendees enjoyed the indoor-outdoor seating and the urban-casual menu.

While enjoying this premium experience, attendees benefitted from deep-dive insight into the role of the GITO: how public sector CIOs are expected to combine the traditional, day-to-day management of IT operations with the strategic goal of connecting technology, business, organisations and data to meet the anticipated needs of both government and the citizens they serve.

Our expert speaker line-up included Len de Villiers, group CIO, Telkom; Mthoko Mncwabe, group CIO, South African Post Office; and Riaz Osman, director, technology, systems integration leader, Deloitte. They were guided by award-winning broadcaster Gugulethu Mfuphi, who spoke to the overall theme of the event: The role of the ‘new’ GITO in the public sector ICT space.

Keep your eyes peeled for the dates and theme of the September event.
