The Public Sector ICT Forum

The newly formed Public Sector ICT Forum held its first event early in September and was attended by eighty plus CIO's from across the public sector and parastatals.

This initiative is aimed at creating an informal group that provides a platform and opportunity for public sector ICT decision-makers, such as yourself, to come together at thought-leadership events and engage to discuss topics that are key to innovation and excellence in service delivery.

Attendees to the inaugural event at the Four Seasons Hotel, Westcliff, gained insight into digitalisation in the public sector by listening to a case study from SAPO's, Group CIO, Mthoko Mncwabe, detailed insight into skills development from Lee Naik, managing director, Accenture Digital and a high-profile guest speaker on digitalisation in Africa, Victor Kgomoeswana.

The convergence of mobility, cloud computing, big data, the Internet of things and social technologies have led to demand for digitisation. The benefits for the public sector by digitisation include greater operational efficiencies and flexibility, reduced costs, improved communication channels with citizens, and ultimately, improved service delivery.

Join us for the next morning of thought-provoking presentations, date to be confirmed, focusing purely on the needs of Public Sector ICT decision-makers; interesting insight and discussion as well as the opportunity to network freely with colleagues and peers who have similar challenges to your own.

A luncheon and networking session will close the event, giving members the chance to engage with speakers and peers and debate the subjects discussed.
