Communications executive

Wayne Speechly deals with the collision of voice technologies.

01 March 2013

Wayne Speechly’s day is filled with both internal and external meetings, and it starts early. The first meeting is at around 07h30. Speechly is executive in charge of Internet Solutions’ Communications division and as such is deeply involved in how VoIP and Software as a Service are colliding. Internet Solutions (IS) has four divisions, which it refers to as the ‘four Cs’: communications, connectivity, cloud and carrier. Under his division is an unusual combination of communications services and applications.

“They are two very different businesses so to run VoIP and SaaS under one umbrella is a unique concept, especially when you look at the traditional telcos, where their core business is voice and they’ve put everything behind it. At IS, we’ve put apps and voice under the same realm of control.”
