But unlike IT heads at most other companies, Wilson is actually fine with this kind of behaviour. He usually quizzes the person who did the downloading about why they did it, but no action is taken.

Wilson is comfortable with the staff acting this way because at the end of the day, using their own devices and ‘unapproved’ software makes their jobs easier, and the way he sees it, tolerating this ties into IT’s goal of supporting the business.
