Food-delivery app OrderIn has found a way to keep South African employees’ stomachs full and wallets fat.

Large corporates often have canteens that offer subsidised meals for employees. Others, meanwhile, let employees order food and submit the receipts, but getting reimbursed can take months. In small and mid-sized companies, however, employees are more often than not left to fend for themselves.

In South African law, employers are permitted to provide tax-deductible meals to their employees. But most don’t because of the expenses involved to set it up in-house and, if they do, they often don’t have the wide range of meals a diverse set of South Africans might require.
