Who watches what, when

DStv has released the dual-view Personal Video Recorder (PVR), a development that promises to free TV viewers from viewing schedules and end the fight over who watches what when.

03 January 2006

DStv last month launched its Personal Video Recorder – a wonderful device that allows viewers to record up to 80 hours of content, pause live TV, fast forward through adverts, instantly replay content in 10 second sections and be freed from the demands of the TV schedule forever.

As since this is a dual-view PVR (dual view enables viewers to watch different channels on different television sets), the inevitable fight for the remote control that ensues whenever everyone tries to watch their content of choice at the same time, is now gone for good. With the dual-view PVR you can even watch Survivor in the lounge, while someone else watches soccer in the bedroom and you record the kids favourite from the cartoon channel – all simultaneously.
