Artificial intelligence and robotics are already changing the way we interact with technology, and with one another. Technology companies, meanwhile, continue to roll out new AI algorithms, which are being embedded into technology, sometimes invisibly. How do we negotiate this tricky new terrain? And is there any kind of ethical oversight? Who is making sure that the biases of engineers (white and male, for example) are not being replicated in the code?

According to Dr Aimee van Wynsberghe, there’s precious little oversight going on. But she’s hoping to change that.
