Big tech. Big problem?

Each caught in their own web of public perception challenges, are the likes of Google, Facebook and Amazon headed for antitrust trouble?

It almost feels like the 1990s. Tech is everywhere, changing everything and we all see the potential of a better future in it. But at the same time, we’ve become nervous about big technology companies.

Back in the ‘90s, the ‘big tech’ poster child was Microsoft, which was being threatened with antitrust action to break up its businesses. The source of public ire wasn’t Redmond’s dominance of business ecosystems, but the overwhelming presence of its internet browser. Many felt it was crushing the early internet’s development and limiting consumer choice.
