“Our school systems aren’t adequately preparing learners to face the real world,” says Warren Scorgie, head of IT operations at PSG Konsult.

He believes one of the key opportunities for South Africa is in the tech space, because, as he says: “You don’t need a qualification to learn how to programme. Kids don’t need to be dependent on a system or a qualification to achieve certain life objectives. Many people end up doing jobs completely different to what they’ve qualified in. I’m one of them.”
