Wrap your enterprise in HCI

Hyperconverged infrastructure ties cost savings, security and disaster recovery in a neat, technical bow.

15 January 2021

The market for hyperconverged infrastructure (HCI) is expected to grow by $24.56 billion from 2019 to 2023, according to Technavio. It’s also, says IDC, showing remarkable resilience in a year that has been anything but resilient. The research firm has said that the hyperconverged system market remains a growth sector thanks to its software-defined infrastructure. Then, to really bolster the impressive HCI resumé, Allied Market Research predicts that this is a market that will reach $33.16 billion by 2026 with a CAGR of 30.7% from 2019 to 2026.

HCI is a software-defined platform that adds compute, networking, management and storage into one integrated solution that allows for improved datacentre control and management while reducing overall complexity and cost. It’s a mix that leverages the flexibility of cloud while bypassing the weight that’s traditionally felt by the tin and native tech that make up converged infrastructure. And, unlike converged infrastructure, HCI gives organisations that are resistant to cloud investment the opportunity to explore how software-based infrastructure can integrate with their existing systems and business requirements.
