To risk or not to risk?

Just because you’re shifting something to the cloud doesn’t mean you can forget about your security obligations.

This is the year that GDPR began to bite, and it seems security is becoming more important by the month. And it’s the IT organisation that must shoulder most of the burden of keeping the organisation safe. Cloud is also becoming an increasingly overlapping part of the security conversation. The JSE, for one, is on the journey to cloud, says its head of IT, trading and regulation, Njabulo Ndaba.

Aside from using ServiceNow, a desktop support application, he says the exchange is considering rolling out Office 365, and is thus leaning towards Azure. In the meantime, it is busy cleaning up its Active Directory, which will also assist in its access and control strategy. It’s also looking at implementing Teams for productivity.
