Springleap’s big jump

Crowdsourcing pioneer Springleap needs to move up in the world. No longer a niche e-commerce enterprise supplying trendy clothing, it is now pitching itself to corporate retailers as a virtual consultancy offering a host of creative services.

The sales pitch is compelling: “We can deliver a high-quality design campaign twice as fast as traditional mechanisms, at 25 percent to 30 percent of the normal cost, and offer a far wider selection of proposals. Furthermore, we can test potential designs among consumers, quickly, effectively and cheaply, before clients take them to market.”

Eran Eyal, CEO at Springleap, has been banging on the doors of big retail corporations for ages, proclaiming the benefits of crowdsourcing. Some are starting to listen. Nokia, Samsung, the MK DStv channel, Foschini, Bokomo and South African Breweries have already employed Springleap to work on their brands. Others are expected to sign up soon.
