It’s all about services

No longer is Cell C’s focus on networks; it’s now about collaboration, services and better understanding its customers.

Back when mobile phones were only good for making calls, sending the odd SMS or playing Snake, accessing the online world wherever you were in the real world seemed like such a wonderful concept. The initial experience failed to live up to expectations, but over time, mobile devices have become smarter and are today an essential part of our lives. The different network generations ‒ 2G, 3G, 4G ‒ act as timestamps of how mobile technology has evolved. The basic call-and-SMS handsets symbolised the 2G network, with 2.5G running on GPRS giving us a dismal glimpse of mobile internet services, 3G turned into LTE and then 4G.

The current hype in the cellular telecoms world is the arrival of 5G, offering more bandwidth, better latency, but also supporting a wave of services such as IoT and autonomous vehicles.
