Don’t drop it, box it

Is Dropbox still a solid solution for the organisation?

02 April 2024

Chris Warner, Definition Group

Dropbox was founded in 2007 with the aim of providing companies with a “transparent file management system” that syncs desktop files, backs up files, allows access from anywhere and makes it easy to share files. Arriving long before WeTransfer, Dropbox cemented itself as a trusted platform and, as of the end of 2022, had 17.77 million paying users, at an average revenue per user (ARPU) of $134.51. It’s fiscal results for Q4 2023 were up 6% year-on-year and the company counts Accenture, Walmart, Asana and Lyft among its customer base. We spoke to the CEO of Estate Living, Louise Martin, and Chris Warner, operations director at UK-based brand consultancy Definition Group, about how they’re enjoying the use of this platform within their businesses.

“Our organisation used to be a collection of different agencies and we all came together under one banner to create an aligned service portfolio under a single brand,” says Definition Group’s Warner. “We had acquired a number of different agencies and each one had its own way of doing things, its own processes and operations. We had to find a way of standardising processes so we can work together seamlessly and this led to us implementing Dropbox.”
