What will be the long-term implications of the US trying to hobble China’s access to advanced technologies?

Everywhere the United States casts its gaze, in particular to the East, it sees risks to its citizens’ data. Speaking in early March, Wang Yi, China’s foreign affairs minister, said US sanctions on Chinese companies were being applied at a “bewildering” and “unfathomable” rate.

At a press conference at the annual Parliament meeting in Beijing, Wang allowed that while the US/Sino relations were “critical”, it would also be deepening its relationship with Russia.
