Changing colours of diversity
Women have influenced history in remarkable ways. In South Africa, 20 000 women of all races marched to the Union Buildings in 1956, protesting the country’s pass laws. Thirty-nine years later, in 1995, the first National Women’s Day was celebrated on August 9.

This August, the ICT industry’s leading women gathered in Johannesburg for a BCX Wired-4Women (W4W) Women’s Day event.
Opening the event, Bidvest’s CIO Nomonde White-Ndlovu noted that the national theme for Women’s Day this year was “Women’s Socioeconomic Rights and Empowerment, building back better for women’s improved resilience”.
