Atlassian, named after the Greek Titan and launched by Mike Cannon-Brookes and Scott Farquhar, is the proud owner of a slew of developer productivity and collaboration tools, including Trello, Opsgenie, Halp, Confluence, Atlas, Bitbucket, Sourcetree, Compass, Bamboo, Fisheye, Crucible, Beacon, Atlassian Access, Crowd and, of course, Jira. The last is the company’s flagship product launched in 2002 and is, according to legend, Wikipedia and the internet – basically every source except Jira’s site itself – named after the Japanese word Gojira, or Godzilla. Designed to support dev teams, Jira is all about moving quickly within agile environments and smooth collaboration.
